Quench Trip Registry
If you’re thinking of signing up for a gift registry but baffled by the list of digital toasters and four-in-one avocado tools that are out there, then consider registering for something you really need: An unforgettable travel experience.
The Quench Trip Registry allows your friends and family to chip in to send you on a unique trip of a lifetime. The registry can be used by soon-to-be-newlyweds destined for a romantic honeymoon, kids who are treating their parents to a special anniversary gift, or longtime pals who want to send each other on an adventure to celebrate a landmark birthday.
Cookie-cutter honeymoons, anniversary, and birthday trips are not our specialty. Each trip on our registry is designed from scratch and made unique by our unrivaled destination knowledge.
Here's a general step-by-step process to explain how the trip registry works:
- Wish list - Are you hoping to retreat to a remote villa in southern Tuscany, or a private game lodge in Botswana? Start by making a wish list to shape your dream trip. Consider every aspect, the ideal experiences that suit your style of travel, budget, and preferred interests.
- Consultation - The consultation process lays the groundwork for the final design of your trip. Based on your wish list, our invaluable destination knowledge, and detailed discussions, we design your dream trip and create a detailed itinerary including special events and places to stay. At this stage, our standard trip design fees apply (starting from $350 per person for a one-week trip) – please see Our Process page for further details.
- Set-up - For an initial $100 set-up fee, a dedicated and secure trip registry page is created for you on our website. Your registry page is accessible by your friends and family and contains up-to-date information on your registry, including the specifics of your trip.
- Contributions - From the time your trip registry page is created, until three weeks before departure, your guests contribute any amount they choose to any of the travel experiences on your itinerary. Contributions are made to us by cheque, wire transfer, or credit card. As we are a TICO-registered travel company, all funds are kept in a trust account on your behalf. Once we tally the total contribution amount, a 7% commission is payable to Quench as part of the registry service fee.
- Finalizing your trip - Prior to your departure, we will make all the necessary arrangements and reservations on your behalf. Total contributions (net of our 7% fee) are put towards the cost of your trip. Any additional amounts owing by or due to you are tallied and collected or distributed, respectively. As part of our trip design service, you will also receive a tailor-made trip package that includes all the need-to-knows about your trip, important phone numbers at your destination, and some of our suggestions for places you might want to discover while you're away. You'll have your own secure trip page on our website so you can constantly access your itinerary from wherever you are on your journey.
- While you're away - Of course, you'll have our contact details with you on every step of your journey, from the time you take off to the time you walk back through your front door.
