Clifton Beach, Cape Town
"The guesthouses were lovely, every one of them. They were beautiful serene havens with excellent service. We were so grateful for your recommendation to drive the route 62. We saw some stunning, out of the way places and met wonderful characters we would not have discovered otherwise. We loved the wineries and the restaurants you recommended, and the safari at the end was just incredible. Truly a once in a lifetime experience, except we would love to get back there! Thanks so much."

South Africa
With its raw and astonishing beauty, South Africa is a delicate blend of traditional and contemporary cultures.
"Fragile" only because the tensions of its long volatile politics are inevitable, it presents the better of two ethnicities: the profound exuberance of the Africans with the impeccable service and quality infrastructure that consumes the European sensibility.
Foodies will love the fine gastronomy and impressive wines with value for money that's tough to match. The national parks provide an unparalleled opportunity to sip a "sundowner" while watching animals gather at their watering hole.
Families of all ages will be dumbfounded by the unsurpassed variety of soft adventure, pristine beaches, wilderness encounters and fascinating culture.
A postcard from South Africa...
Where else can you dine on gourmet fare under the stars around the Boma (campfire) and then retire to plush cotton sheets under canvas, falling asleep to the sounds of the wild?
The past two days have been spent exploring the park by car and on foot. Before the sun was up, we'd already seen a herd of elephant, babies in tow, sidled up to the watering hole for their morning wash. The young ones are so playful, frolicking as they take their drink and splashing the others with great bursts from their trunks.
Last night we saw a pride of lion feasting on their fresh kill, oblivious to the fact that some mere humans were intently watching over them.
We spent some glorious days in Cape Town (it's undoubtedly one of the most idyllic cities on our planet with the soaring mountains on one side and the sparking oceans on the other) and then took a leisurely pace up through the winelands and the Garden Route.
The scenery is absolutely staggering - from rolling vineyards to desert and mountains and abundant farmland, it is surprisingly diverse. We visited an estate not usually open to the public, where we were welcomed like long lost friends and treated to a fabulous wine tasting and lunch.
Another highlight was the small guesthouse in Knysna where we were woken in the morning by the sound of African drumming, signaling that breakfast was ready. It has been a feast for the senses, and I can't wait to come back.

Let us know if you'd like to watch the sunset to the humorous melody of bantering hippo.
